Don't forget, we are finishing our discussion of our top pick article (you should have a total of three on the topic of intellect) today. We will work to find common areas of interest and form groups today.
Do remember to read the Ch. 10 excerpt from How To Lie With Statistics before Thursday, 10-26. We will discuss his main points at the beginning of class. We will complete the structural analysis/comparison IN CLASS on Thursday. You don't have to begin that at home.
Don't forget to bring your Socratic Seminar PARTNER evaluation to class on Monday.

Some really profound questions were asked today--and the very real difficulty that stakeholders in this discussion are having to find common ground was highlighted. That is awesome. If you are considering further pursuing this topic next term, be thinking how to bridge that gap between now and then.

Always learning, always questioning, always refining! Well done. See you on Monday.
There were a few questions about the letter to stakeholder assignment. I will reword it here to hopefully clarify:

  • come up with a compromise or a solution to one of the problems you learned about in the book you read this summer
  • figure out a real-world business, government, or non-profit that could actually implement this compromise or solution
  • write to them and give them your proposal

1) A few of you forgot to EMAIL me your Annotated Bibliography entry. I want to use all the entries to show the class what a full annotated bibliography would look like. Please email these ASAP.

2) I have your Lenses assignment and your Annotated Bib. Those grades will be on this six-weeks. Your practice End of Course exam (Oct. 2-5) will not be in the gradebook for this six-weeks.

3) Upcoming due dates are listed on the Class Calendar (first link under UNIT 1). The calendar has been updated.

4) We will discuss visual analysis and your museum piece practice (from class Thurs., Sept. 28) the week of Oct. 16. Be sure you can reference the art exhibit you were analyzing for our discussion (either printed or on your phone).

5) Be sure you uploaded your Letter to a Stakeholder properly to turnitin.com on or BEFORE noon on Oct. 11th.
